Teacher: Flouer Evelyn
In every class, Flouer’s genuine warmth and contagious excitement match her passion for academic rigor. Deeply curious about the intersection of culture and movement, Flouer believes that the pathway to being “free” while partner dancing is building individual movement capacity while cultivating attunement to both your partner and the community.
Originally from New York City and now based in Italy, Flouer has an MFA in dance and extensive experience in many partnered and solo dance forms. She has been teaching blues dance as we know it in our global community since 2010, and dancing “blues” since 1999. She has taught, performed and competed throughout Europe, North & South Americas, Australia, and Asia.
She is known for weaving together technical precision with rich cultural storytelling, connecting you to the historical roots of our dance. Her approach emphasizes both artistry and embodiment, helping you feel the dance from the inside out while discovering your own authentic expression within tradition.

What Is Fusion Dance?
“Fusion is the creative meeting point of different partner dance styles.”
It happens when dancers mix techniques, adapt to unfamiliar music,
or meet someone with a different dance background — creating something new in the moment.
As Flouer describes it, Fusion lives on a continuum:
from spontaneous creativity between different styles
to evolving, recognizable forms born from shared experience.
Simply put: Fusion is about listening, adapting, and creating together.

We’ll explore connection, flow, and musicality — helping you understand the heart of Zouk and bring its essence into your Fusion dancing.

Flow in Motion
Flow combines some of the core elements of Brazilian Zouk and Fusion to create something unique and beautiful. The style of Flow allows the spine to bend and shape and flow around your partner, using all of our human capabilities in movement. We’ll work on sensitivity in the partnership so our dance will feel smooth, continuous, connected, and alive.

The Five Systems of Connection
Just as the world speaks in different languages—each with its own grammar, idioms, and poetry—partner dance flows through five distinct communication systems. Each system has its own grammar: rules for how information travels between bodies, how invitations are offered and answered, how two people create coherent movement in real time. We’ll explore the fundamentals of all five partner dance communication systems so you can recognize which language your partner is speaking on the dance floor and join the conversation with clarity, creativity, and connection.

An inviting dive into Blues Dance fundamentals for dancers from any style.
We’ll explore pulse, grounding, and emotional expression — offering both a first taste of Blues and a chance to rediscover familiar ideas through a Fusion lens.

Connection is more than just one thing.
In this class, we’ll explore multiple ways dancers communicate and relate — physical, rhythmic, spatial, and more — expanding your ability to adapt and create with any partner.
