In connection with on-site events (e.g. classes, parties, workshops), photographs and video recordings may be taken in which participants may be identifiable.
Such images and recordings may be used for purposes of public relations, including publication on our website, on social media, and in printed materials.
Principles
If a person is clearly identifiable, we will obtain separate consent prior to publication, unless another legal basis applies under the GDPR (e.g. legitimate interests).
Group photos or recordings taken at public events, in which individuals are not the main focus, may also be published provided that no overriding legitimate interests of the persons concerned are violated.
You may object to the use of your image or video recordings at any time. In such cases, we will remove the respective material without undue delay, insofar as this is technically possible.
Class-Related Video Recordings
From time to time, we record videos after class in order to summarize the content of the lesson. These recordings serve as a video diary and learning aid, allowing participants to revisit the material later.
Our instructors may invite participants to take part in these recordings. Participation is entirely voluntary, and each individual decides whether or not they wish to appear in the video.
Most of these videos are shared exclusively with the participants of the respective class, either via Google Drive or our own web server. However, we reserve the right to use these recordings in other ways, for example as marketing material on content-sharing platforms or to reuse the content for other commercial purposes.
Use of Photos and Videos
We take photos and videos during our dance classes, practice sessions, social events, performances, and competitions. Our intention is to capture the experience people have when participating in our activities.
We may use these photos and videos in the following ways:
- As learning support and personal keepsakes for participants
- For marketing purposes on social media
- To enhance and illustrate our communications, including newsletters, websites, and other communication channels
- In both printed and digital media (e.g. flyers, posters, business cards)
- To promote both specific events and the overall experience of participating in our activities
These photos and recordings are intended to be stored for the duration of the existence of our organization, as they are used as internal stock photos/videos for future communications (e.g. marketing) and as a historical record of our events and community.
