Costume Competition

Bring your most spooky, creative or fun costume and show it off on the dance floor!

Whether you are an experienced cosplayer, a DIY costume maker or simply love dressing up for Halloween — everyone is welcome. We care not only about the costume itself, but also about creativity, the story behind it and how well you bring your character to life.

There is no professional jury — the community decides! Everyone at the party gets a say and can vote for their favorites.

And of course, there are prizes to be won! Expect some great dance-related prizes, such as free participation in one of our dance workshops.

So get into character, be spooky, be silly, be magical — and have fun with it!

Bring your scariest, strangest or most creative Halloween creation to the party! Whether it’s creepy, cute, delicious or just looks absolutely terrifying — anything goes.

Bring something to share with the community and let everyone have a taste. At the end of the evening, the community will vote for the most frighteningly fabulous creation.

And yes, there’s a prize! Come up with something creative, have fun with it and see if your dish can scare its way to the top.

We’re happy to receive donations to help us create more magical events like this!

We want Voodoo, Blues & Halloween to be a welcoming, respectful and queer-friendly event where everyone can feel comfortable being themselves.

1. Respect, Inclusion & Consent

Everyone is welcome, regardless of background, identity, experience or dance style. Treat others with respect and do not discriminate, harass or make others feel unwelcome.

Respect personal boundaries at all times. A “No” is always enough and never needs to be explained — whether on the dance floor, in conversation or in any other interaction. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.

2. Safety, Care & Support

Take care of yourself and the people around you. Dance and behave in a way that keeps yourself and others safe.

A designated care person will be available throughout the Halloween Party and can be identified by a visible marker. If you feel uncomfortable, need support or experience a boundary violation, you can approach the care person or any member of the event team.

Our chill-out area offers a quieter place away from the dance floor. If you need more privacy or a completely quiet space, we can provide a separate room upon request.

3. Cosplay Guidelines

Cosplay and costumes are very welcome! Please do not bring weapons or dangerous props to the event.

There are limited changing facilities available. If you need a place to change or apply make-up, please talk to the event team and we will find a suitable space. Changing areas and storage are not supervised, so please do not leave valuables unattended.

We want to capture the atmosphere, costumes and dancing of the event and share some of these moments afterwards. At the same time, we respect everyone’s privacy.

Please ask before taking photos or videos of other participants. Being in costume or taking part in the event does not automatically mean that someone agrees to be photographed. If someone says no, please respect this without discussion.

An official event photographer will be present during the Halloween Party. Photos taken by the official photographer are intended for event documentation and may also be used by the organizers to promote future events.

If you do not want to be photographed, you can get a wristband at the entrance. Please wear it visibly and also let the official photographer know. Other participants should respect this signal and avoid photographing or filming you.

After the event, the official photos will be published in an online gallery. You have two weeks after the gallery is published to contact us and request that photos showing you are removed from the gallery. You do not need to give a reason for your request.

If you have questions about the photo policy or would like to request the removal of a photo, please contact the event organizers.

Tickets and workshop registration available over the link below.

You will be able to register for the dance workshops and the Halloween Party through our online registration system.

Hosting requests can also be submitted during registration.
