That Swing DANCE SCHOOL
Since January 2026, THAT SWING has also been offering a real home for swing culture in Nuremberg as a dance school.
Here, we’re taking swing to the next level with high standards, groove and plenty of fun.

Drop-in
Are you visiting the city or only want to join a specific class? No problem – you can do so for €20 (regular) / €15 (reduced) per 60 minutes. Drop us an email in advance at info@thatswing.de.

General Info
- In the swing and blues community, you don’t need a regular dance partner, as we swap partners in all the classes. It might take a bit of getting used to at first, but this way you’ll get to know lots of lovely people straight away and make rapid progress.
- We have plenty of interesting figures, rhythms and steps in our teaching repertoire, but we also focus on technique. You won’t necessarily learn set sequences of figures, but rather the technique for leading and following any conceivable figure or step, even if you’ve never seen it before.
- In our small class groups, you’ll receive plenty of attention and personalised feedback from the teachers.
- We’re an open community that welcomes everyone, regardless of age, background or identity. We do not tolerate discrimination or disrespectful behaviour towards others. Dance roles are not gender-specific here. See also our Code of Conduct.

Teachers
That Swing Show Group
Together with swing dancers from the local scene, we create dance shows for events. Choreographing helps us to develop our own dancing and our creative expression through dance. It also helps us to develop our local swing scene and to showcase what the scene has to offer in a fun way.
