19–20.30 h intermediate dance class

Balboa is one of the classic three major Swing Dance forms and became popular in the 30th and 40th. Balboa is danced mainly with fast music. The modern balboa style distinguishes between „Pure Bal“ and „Bal Swing“. Pure Bal is danced in close embrace focusing on footwork variations and minimal figures. It can be danced in crowed areas. „Bal Swing“ is a more balroom style version mixing close embrace and open dance position leaving more space for figures.

Course info

  • Bi-weekly, 90 minutes each class, 6-7 Tuesdays per course, no class during school holidays
  • Level: Block “Spring” will be continuing the last block, NOT beginner level, basic Balboa knowledge is needed
  • No dance partner needed, we change partners
